![]() Like the other Street View Treks that Google has compiled, its El Capitan tour is interactive: You can take in the views from atop the granite behemoth, with panoramas that show the surrounding mountains and formations (including Half Dome). As of today, even the least outdoorsy person in the world can get a sense of what it's like to climb El Capitan, thanks to Google's new Vertical Street View interface. ![]() It's something that only the most experienced of climbers typically attempt, and remains a mere pipe dream for novices-until now, that is. El Capitan in Yosemite National Park has a reputation for being one of the most challenging rocks in the world to scale, thanks to largely to "The Nose," the southwestern side that features a 3,000-foot climbing route that's almost entirely vertical.
